
The manifold system of medical gases (multi-ways regulators) is used within the hospitals and medical centers in order to manage the medical gases cylinders so that in case of complications in the gas main source, the alternative source shall be incorporated in order to produce the gas flow. Furthermore, in order to decrease the pressure within the medical gas cylinders so that it fits the needs of the various hospital units, this system has been designed. The structure of the manifold system within the central oxygen system and the anesthesia system is very similar to each other which include the regulators, controllers, and the one way valves that are connected to both the main and alternative cylinders. When the pressure within the main cylinders decreases to a certain level or if they run completely out of gas per se, the alternative cylinders which are full shall be automatically used within the distribution system; therefore, no complications are caused within the medical gases distribution system. If each of the cylinders is emptied up, the system’s visual and auditory alarm signals shall be activated to inform the personnel of the need to replace the empty cylinders.
